MA ECONOMICS ENTRANCE EXAM (TERI & HYDERABAD UNIVERSITY)

I took the entrance for the Financial Economics course and there is only 1 centre in Delhi i.e. Venkateshwara College in South Campus, Delhi University. The paper did not have many applicants as in the general economics course because the course was comparatively new and had been introduced around 2-3 years back (guess based on my experience). The paper consisted of core finance questions, the syllabus of which can be the Financial Economics readers/book that is prescribed by the Delhi University. The people who are not from Delhi University can consider refer from Basu and Hull and DU Financial Economics syllabus.

There are no such interview process for the course and the admissions are given according to the rankings.

TERI SCHOOL OF ADVANCED STUDIES

This course specialises in Environmental and Resource Economics and is considered to be a very good course for people who want to go for research or higher studies. There are three rounds for the entrance i.e. aptitude, written test and an interview.

Aptitude is of a very basic level and you can get the idea of the kind of questions asked through the sample papers given on their website. It consists of proficiency in english, quantitative and analytical reasoning. It consists of 100 questions with negative marking, that you need to attempt in an hour and if you perform decently, then you might expect a call for the interview.

Before the interview, there is a written test that again has some MCQs based on basic Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Statistics and the subjects that you've already been studying for other entrances. The level is not that high as such but be good with your basics and it will work in your favor! Finally, there is an interview on the same day after a short break. They will ask you the subjects that you like or are comfortable with. And, they will test your basics of the subjects that you have studied during your undergraduation as mentioned above. Just be confident because the faculty itself takes the interviews and honestly, my panelists were very sweet who made me comfortable. But, you might not get the same panelists. Drive the interview well and it might work the way you want it to be.

If you do well in all these three rounds, you can expect an acceptance mail from them!
